Sports & Fitness Director
Sam Barnhill has been the director of Grace Powell Sports (GPS) since its establishment in 2017. Sam is happily married to his wife, Ashley, and together they are passionate about people and building relationships for the purpose of spreading the Good News. Their passions include foster care, international mission work, and caring for the “least of these” in the world. As a two sport athlete in college (basketball and track) and a Certified Exercise Physiologist through the American College of Sports Medicine, Sam loves all things sports and fitness and believes these can be used as tools to help transform people into the best version of themselves. Sam desires to “take sports and fitness in a new direction,” one that is God honoring and relationship focused.

She enjoys reading, listening to podcasts, and meeting with mentors. She loves to be physically active and is a thrill seeker. Time outside with her family is her favorite. Group Exercise Instructor
Jenea has always loved physical fitness and enjoyed dance and running throughout her high school and college years. She teaches yoga and barre at a few fitness clubs in the area and has a passion for helping people feel great in their bodies and appreciate what they’re capable of! She really enjoys teaching in non-traditional settings since people who may not walk into a studio might try a yoga/barre class at their club (or church!) and realize how much they love it. Her favorite thing about teaching fitness classes is creating a space where people can relieve stress, balance their minds and bodies and get those endorphins flowing! Jenea and her husband Derek have a two, five and seven year-old and enjoy traveling together, watching their kids play sports and feel so grateful to have become a part of the Grace Powell Church family!

Flag Football Coordinator
Kyle graduated from the College of Mount St. Joseph with a Master’s of Physical Therapy. He additionally is a certified instructor in Ohio Health’s Parkinson’s “Delay the Disease” exercise and balance programming. Kyle is most passionate about our sports programming and the quality of the instruction and fun that comes from it. He makes sure to leave the fitness instruction up to the Sam and Bethany. Kyle is married to Heather since 2005. As a father of 3 boys, Isaiah (10), Elijah (9), and Jonah (7), he desires to see a sports program that incorporates the lessons of life into the world of sports. “Fundamentals are the foundation for quality athletes, and quality Christians.” Kyle was a three sport athlete from Parkway High School, a part of the Midwest Athletic Conference, with varsity letters, in golf, basketball, and baseball. 20 years later, he remains 3rd all-time in assists, and holds the single season 3 point percentage at 46.2%. Join him and Sam Monday nights for Men’s basketball, and you’ll be more likely to see him give a good assist than a made 3. He loves all things sports, especially when they can be played with friends and family. He believes the most enjoyable fitness comes when you get to compete against someone or for something.
