Sam Barnhill

Sports & Fitness Director

Sam graduated from Grove City College in Pennsylvania with a degree in Exercise Science and a certification through the American College of Sports Medicine as a Certified Exercise Physiologist in 2012. Sam played both basketball and track while at Grove City. He then moved to Powell and began working in both the public and private personal training arenas. In 2015, after moving home from the mission field in Madagascar, Sam began Grace Powell Sports with a small team from Grace Powell Church. Sam and his wife, Ashley, have seven kids and together share a passion for people, the outdoors, traveling and most importantly, Jesus. Sam is passionate about using sports and fitness to help people and families in our community live healthier, more fulfilling lives all while pointing people to Jesus.

Ashley Eibling

Fitness Coordinator

Ashley graduated from the University of Toledo in 2013 with her Doctorate of Physical Therapy. She has since been practicing in the outpatient physical therapy setting since graduation. Ashley loves to come alongside patients to get to know them and help them achieve their goals. Ashley grew up around sports and played soccer and basketball in high school. She still enjoys playing both now. Ashley and her husband, Preston, have 3 young kids and live in Powell. Ashley has transitioned to fewer clinical hours as a physical therapist, but recently started as the Fitness Coordinator at Grace Powell Church. She is excited to bring her passion for peoples’ hearts and their fitness goals to a community that is committed to people’s physical AND spiritual health. She desires to see people come to know Jesus and be encouraged in addition to an excellent fitness experience.

Jenea Garrod

Group Class Instructor

Jenea has always loved physical fitness and enjoyed dance and running throughout her high school and college years. She teaches yoga and barre at a few fitness clubs in the area and has a passion for helping people feel great in their bodies and appreciate what they’re capable of! She really enjoys teaching in non-traditional settings since people who may not walk into a studio might try a yoga/barre class at their club (or church!) and realize how much they love it. Her favorite thing about teaching fitness classes is creating a space where people can relieve stress, balance their minds and bodies and get those endorphins flowing! Jenea and her husband Derek have a 6, 6 and 11 year-old and enjoy traveling together, watching their kids play sports and feel so grateful to have become a part of the Grace Powell Church family!

Beth Reed

Personal Trainer/Group Class Instructor

Beth is a graduate of Ohio Wesleyan University with a Bachelor’s in Exercise Science. In addition to this, she is a NASM Certified Personal Trainer and currently working on her Master’s in Physiology and Kinesiology. Her love for exercise first started in the pool, where she was a competitive swimmer through her childhood and college years. Beth is the assistant swim coach for OWU and works alongside collegiate swimmers. Beth is passionate about training her individual clients and athletes to reach their own personal fitness/athletic goals. She is a firm believer in the benefits incorporating different forms of movements each day. In her down time, Beth enjoys reading books and going on long bike rides.

Joseph Marlo

Personal Trainer/Group Class Instructor

My name is Joseph Marlo, I have been a part of Grace Powell Sports & Fitness for the past 2 years. I have a master’s degree in Kinesiology and ACE Personal Training (American Council on Exercise) certified. I am also the Children’s Pastor at Grace Powell Church. I have a passion for exercise and the community that it brings. My classes normally focus on form and function, as well as, balance and general health.

Chad Kroplin

Personal Trainer/Group Class Instructor

Chad was one of those young children who had to “run around the house 10 times” when he got in trouble, in order to expel some extra energy (his wife may still ask him to do that now and then). He learned to use that energy for good as a multi-sport athlete in high school and later became passionate about physical fitness during his collegiate years at Ohio State. Chad is a mechanical engineer by day but has a different passion as a Certified Personal Trainer (CPT) through the National Academy of Sports Medicine (NASM), allowing him to use his knowledge to cater towards any client’s fitness goals. He enjoys the parallels of “sweating” physically (to use our God-created bodies) and spiritually (for God’s kingdom). Chad is a firm believer in the mission of Grace Powell Sports & Fitness and is grateful to be a part of Grace Powell Church!

Silas Mays

Personal Trainer/Group Class Instructor

He has his CrossFit Level 1 training certification (CF-L1). He loves seeing people get closer to their fitness  goals and catching up with my clients each week. I also enjoy rucking and hiking!
